1. Fold the surgical mask vertically in the middle once. The face side is on the inside. It is thus protected from contamination. When folding, be careful not to bend the nasal clip too much. Otherwise it will no longer fit correctly later on or it may even break.

Fold the FFP2 mask

With the FFP2 mask, reducing it to a pocket-size format is a little more complicated and not necessarily recommended. This is due to the much more stable and therefore better protective material: The fleece can be damaged by kinking and thus lose its protective effect. You should therefore refrain from folding and instead use FFP2 masks that are already kinked. These are provided with a corresponding fold that has been specially reinforced. The material is not damaged by kinking at these points. 

It is important that you only take the masks out of the packaging immediately before wearing them. As soon as it has dried sufficiently, you should put it back in exactly this packaging.
